Our History
Orthopaedic & Physiotherapy Associates has been proudly serving Bermuda since 2003, when Dr. William Peckett returned to his home island with his wife, Lizzie (Elizabeth Peckett).
In 2006, shortly after having their third child, Lizzie, a physiotherapist, formed her own clinic which now employs 4 fellow physios. Lizzie and Will have been working together ever since; and in 2023, the two companies were restructured to form Orthopaedic Associates Ltd and Physiotherapy Associates Ltd.
This allows the two entities to be more streamlined and to employ a dedicated staff who work closely to serve the public, without losing their excellent 20 year reputation.
Orthopaedic Treatment
Orthopaedic Associates Ltd was founded by Dr William Peckett and works closely with Physiotherapy Associates, as well as several other medical practices around the island and overseas specialists. Our resident team includes three of the island’s top orthopaedic surgeons, each of whom has extensive experience in treating a range of orthopaedic conditions, including fractures, joint injuries, sports-related issues, spine disorders and more. The close union of physiotherapists and surgeons on-site means we are able to provide unrivalled, end-to-end personalised care for all of our patients.
Physiotherapy Services
Our team of Physiotherapists believe in looking beyond symptoms to treat the root cause of pain. Each member of our team has been selected because they share our belief in taking a holistic approach towards healthcare.
We specialise in building tailored treatment plans designed to guide patients through every step of the rehabilitation journey, from initial evaluation to full recovery. All our sessions take place in private treatment rooms to ensure comfort and privacy for our patients. We strive to make our services accessible to all, with free on-site parking and wheelchair access to the clinic.
Streamlined patient care
The close union of physiotherapy and orthopaedics at OPA enables us to streamline patient care. Patients have the flexibility to either undergo evaluation and referral by an Orthopaedic Surgeon followed by treatment at the physiotherapy practice, or receive initial evaluation and treatment by a Physiotherapist with the option of seeking orthopaedic consultation if required.
Patients may also be referred for physiotherapy by a general practitioner or through personal recommendations. Note that for health insurance* purposes, Orthopaedic appointments require a referral, which can be provided by your family doctor (GP), sports medicine physician, physiotherapist, or another qualified healthcare professional.

We work with the majority of insurance providers in Bermuda. If you’d like to check whether your treatment will be covered, please check with your insurance company directly. Please feel free to discuss this before your visit with our office admin staff. It is important to understand your own coverage, to avoid misunderstanding.
