Bio

Dr. William Peckett is a leading Orthopaedic Surgeon in Bermuda and valued clinician at Orthopaedic and Physiotherapy Associates. He has extensive expertise in orthopaedic conditions, including total joint replacements, sports injuries and arthroscopy and trauma.

Dr Peckett is dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients of all ages and backgrounds, together with his colleagues. He is proud to be associated with the three visiting orthopaedic surgical specialists and and values working with them, and ensures a world class orthopaedic service is maintained on the island.

Dr. Peckett received his Medical School training at University College Hospital and Middlesex Hospital Medical School, London. After his pre-clinical years he studied physiology, where he attained a First Class Honours degree and was awarded the prestigious Leonard Bayliss Prize. In Bermuda, he was presented the Sir Henry Tucker Scholarship in 1987 and the Sir John Cox Scholarship 1988 to 1991. His surgical training included rotations at renowned institutions in London including The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. His Higher surgical training was on the South East Thames rotation based at Guys and St Thomas’s Hospital. He performed three Fellowships in Sydney Australia in Knee surgery, Shoulder Surgery and Foot and Ankle surgery with additional exposure to Sports Injuries and Adult Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Peckett has published a number of peer-reviewed articles including articles on shoulder, knee and foot and ankle topics. He has spoken at a number of international meetings including the Caribbean Orthopaedic Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Australian Orthopaedic Association and Doctors Updates. He has also given several instructional course lectures at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons on aspects of anatomy of the shoulder and the pathoanatomy of tennis elbow. He has a particular interest in Enhanced recovery and Outpatient Total Joint replacement surgery.

Beyond medicine, Dr. Peckett enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, golfing, and beekeeping.
