Physiotherapy services

Our approach

At Physiotherapy Associates, we believe in looking beyond symptoms to treat the root cause of pain. Each of our physiotherapists have been selected because they share our belief in taking a holistic approach towards healthcare. The partnership between the island’s health practitioners including family GPs and orthopaedic surgeons and our team of physiotherapists enable us to provide advanced treatment and patient care.

Your Treatment

Evaluation and assessment

You are able to visit one of our physiotherapists without a referral from a GP (and will still be able to claim on your insurance, although we do recommend confirming this with your provider first). Your first appointment includes an initial evaluation and assessment. During this time, we will take time to discuss all aspects of your problem to ensure we understand the complete picture. Generally speaking, this appointment and any follow ups will take place in our clinic, however we also offer home visits for those that are unable to get to us.

Manual therapy

This involves hands-on techniques designed to manipulate and mobilise joints and soft tissues, helping to relieve pain and restore movement. Our skilled physiotherapists employ a range of manual therapy methods tailored to patient needs. Additionally, treatment may include acupuncture and dry needling, further enhancing the recovery process.

Exercise therapy

This involves practising a range of exercises tailored towards your condition/ injury, helping to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and coordination. Exercise therapy is a really important part of treatment, playing a role in both rehabilitation and prevention from future injury.

Education

We will provide education and advice to help with posture correction, future injury prevention, ergonomic principles; and self-management strategies. We hope to empower patients during recovery and to provide useful tips for long-term wellbeing.

Ongoing movement analysis

This involves analysing your movements patterns, posture and functional abilities. By doing this, we are able to better understand how your pain causes you to move differently and tailor treatment accordingly.
